Lahore: Organized in association with Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) with the generous support of the Punjab CBD, this event marks an important milestone in the motor sports and tourism landscape of Pakistan.
The Lahore Ravi Rally Cross award ceremony held at the Prime Minister’s Office, Punjab Quaid District, CBD witnessed the joint efforts of various stakeholders. CBD Punjab spared no effort to decorate the entire area with vibrant race flags and buntings, making an exciting start to the rally. The Chief Guest graced the occasion with Punjab CBD Director General and RUDA Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, Punjab Tourism Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar and senior officials of Punjab CBD, RUDA and TDCP.
The CBD Punjab team joined the excitement and announced their participation in the rally with branded rally cars and increased anticipation among the participants. Famous drivers like Suneel Manj, Ronnie Patel, Sahibzada Sultan, Akel Ahmed Shiraz Haqwani and rally enthusiasts from all over Pakistan gathered at the flag off ceremony ready to show their bravery on the tough terrain. .
In an important gesture of inclusivity, female drivers including Salma Marwat Khan, Zulayha and Laiba Khan Lodhi also joined the ranks and said the rally was committed to freedom and equality in motorsport. More than 70 jeeps, trucks and dirt bikes took to the podium at the flag ceremony, making for a competitive event.
Addressing the gathering, General Secretary CBD Punjab & Brigadier RUDA (R) Mansoor Janjua said, “This is an example that RUDA & TDCP have commended and the support shown by CBD Punjab is amazing. The main event of the rally was held on the banks of the river Ravi near the Lahore-Salkot highway on a 35-kilometer course carefully prepared over two months. Built to international standards, the track will be open all year round, offering racers a unique venue for training and competition.
