ATTOCK: Federal law minister Azam Nazeer Tarar on Thursday condoled the lawyers who were killed in Attock and said that the community will be brought to justice, terming the community as a test for the government.
“It is sad that we will not be able to meet our friend again, but I am sure that justice will prevail and we will do everything to comfort the grieving family of Israel and Zulfiqar,” he said.
He said it was a textbook on terrorism. “Every case is special and the lawyer’s case is presented to the court and the decision is announced by the court. No one will be allowed to go free because the lawyer is an important pillar of society,” he said.
“Good people and friends live forever in our hearts. We must work hard to find a way to eliminate such incidents. “Psychological screening must be done for security personnel assigned to prevent incidents like attacks,” he said.
The minister said there will be zero tolerance if weapons are brought to the armory.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of the freedom of lawyers to speak out against injustice, because the voice of lawyers can lead to unintended consequences, as in the past. He remembers how lawyers became shields when democracy went through difficult times.
