Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday invited opposition political parties to participate in talks to discuss ways to take the country forward.
“Let’s sit together to move the country forward. Let’s talk about developing the country. There is no other way,” said the Prime Minister in his speech to the National Assembly here.
He said that in the past he had invited political parties to develop an agreement on the Economic Charter, but this idea was rejected only because of political points.
The prime minister said he was a victim and was imprisoned when his mother died.
He said he survived the miscarriage and despite the spinal problem, he was brought to court in a standard prison van to make the problem worse, but he never filed a complaint.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that other PML-N leaders were also subjected to harsh treatment despite being prisoners under trial.

Chairman of the meeting discussed the issue of Board of Investment (BoI), he said that promotion of local and foreign investment in Pakistan is one of the priorities of the government.
He said the government is doing everything possible to create a favorable environment for traders and investors.

The Prime Minister gives special attention to the development of alternative energy
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday called for special emphasis on the development of alternative energy, especially solar energy, and directed the relevant authorities to formulate a strategy for Thar coal gasification.
Presiding over a meeting to discuss issues related to the petroleum department, he said that Thar coal is important to meet Pakistan’s energy needs and directed to take steps to transport Thar coal to other parts of the country through the rail system.
