BARBADOS: Former Australian cricketer and commentator Lisa Sthalekar has criticized Pakistan’s performance in the 2024 World Cup and compared New Zealand’s campaign.
He attributed Pakistan’s loss against India to the current pressure, saying the team could not handle critical situations effectively.
He also mentioned that the absence of experienced players contributed significantly to his struggles throughout the tournament.
Additionally, Sthalekar said that Pakistan did not adjust to the tournament conditions in terms of strategy and execution. According to him, this disability seriously hampered their cooperation.
Meanwhile, Sthalekar lauded the USA for their outstanding performance in defeating Pakistan to reach the Super Eight stage. This was hailed as a historic milestone for the American team, especially considering it was their debut at this level of international cricket.
Talking about the larger dynamics of the tournament, Sthalekar pointed out that teams like USA and Bangladesh have adapted better to the conditions compared to Pakistan.
