SWAT: A local dolly lift was shut down in the middle of Swat river due to technical fault in Fathepur area of Hwazakhela Tehsil of Swat district on Saturday.
There are 4 people in the dolly lift including three women. Officials confirmed.
According to details, Imran and three wives of his family were being transported across Swate river from Fatehpur to Kalakot when there was a technical problem when they reached the middle of the river. As a result, four people in the dolly lift were trapped.
As soon as information was received, police and rescue teams started rescue operations, police officials said.
“Meanwhile, the owner of the dolly lift set up another makeshift lift, reached it, fixed the malfunction of the dolly lift and transported the trapped people to safety.”
Meanwhile, Swat Deputy Commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan looked into the incident and ordered the police chief to lodge an FIR against the owner and file a case against him for lack of safety standards and negligence.
