Pakistani girls’ education activist and youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Malala Yousafzai, reiterated her call for an “immediate” ceasefire in Gaza after Israel attacked a UN school catering to Palestinians.
Oussafzai took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call out Israel after the military bombed another UN school, killing dozens of children.
The UN-run school is in Nuseirat camp in central Gaza. At least 40 people, mostly women and children, were killed by Israeli forces at the school, Al Jazeera reported.
“I am horrified that Israel has bombed another school in Gaza, where thousands of civilians have taken refuge. Schools should not be targeted.
In an interview with Vogue, Yousufzai highlighted the terrible situation in the Gaza Strip, especially after Israel’s horrific massacre of Palestinians in Rafah.
It’s heartbreaking and scary to witness these moments. People are very angry and they can’t believe that this can be happening before our eyes.” “
The Nobel laureate reiterated that when he thinks about what Palestinians are going through in Gaza, he cannot imagine the cruelty and pain.
He also announced this week the launch of a new scholarship for Palestinian students at the University of Oxford, highlighting the Malala Foundation’s commitment to Palestine.
The organization has donated $300,000 to Palestinian-led aid groups and humanitarian efforts.
Israel’s mass genocidal attacks have killed more than 37,181 Palestinians and injured 88,309 since October 7, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
