Karachi: Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) Govt of Sindh organized a management training on ‘Leadership in Crisis’ which was held on July 26-27, 2024 at Futurum, YPDC Karachi. The training was conducted by Director GA&C and HR, Madam Shahpara Rizvi and by the Managing director, Mr. Abdul Kabir Kazi.
The 2-day training attended by management of SEF including Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors and Regional Heads and was covered with simulation exercises, role plays and presentations.
While leading the training session, Director GA&C and HR, Madam Shahpara Rizvi expressed that Leadership in crisis training is crucial for the management of any organization because it equips leaders with the skills and strategies needed to navigate unexpected and challenging situations effectively.
Training helps leaders develop a clear understanding of crisis management protocols, enhance their communication skills, and foster resilience. This preparation ensures that leaders can maintain stability, guide their teams with confidence, and minimize the impact of the crisis on the organization’s operations and reputation.
Moreover, leadership in crisis training builds a culture of preparedness within the organization. It empowers leaders to anticipate potential crises, identify early warning signs, and implement proactive measures to prevent escalation. By being well-prepared, organizations can respond more effectively, protecting their stakeholders, assets, and overall mission. This not only preserves trust and credibility but also positions the organization to recover more quickly and emerge stronger from any crisis. She added.
Managing Director Abdul Kabir Kazi stressed that the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) has significant experience in crisis management, particularly during the pandemic, natural disasters, and floods. SEF was the first organization in the province that initiated online learning through Microsoft Teams, established temporary learning centers in flood-affected areas, and developed a comprehensive learning kit for children during disasters. Through these type of training opportunities, management and leaders can learn innovative approaches and effective strategies for navigating crises. This knowledge and experience are invaluable in ensuring the continuity of education and support for affected communities during challenging times.
He emphasized that robust leadership plays a pivotal role in steering a nation out of any crisis. Indeed, history is replete with examples of leaders who, with a clear vision, helped their nations become self-reliant.
The Managing Director praised Madam Shahpara Rizvi, Director GA&C and HR, for fostering a healthy learning environment and leading this training session. He stated that such opportunities will continue to be provided for the people of SEF.
