Manchester: Manchester United have agreed a one-year contract extension for Eriksson, keeping him as manager at the club until June 2026.
The Dutchman’s previous contract, signed after his appointment in 2022, will expire in 2025.
The Red Devils won two trophies in two years at Old Trafford under Ten Hogg.
United finished third in the Premier League in Ten Hag’s first season at the club as the Dutchman ended the club’s six-year wait for a trophy with victory over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final.
However, the Dutchman’s second season proved to be more difficult as United finished eighth in the Premier League and were eliminated in the Champions League group stage.
Manchester United won 2-1 in the FA Cup in May, which proved pivotal in Ten Hag’s career.
Manchester United’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, said: “With two trophies in the last two seasons, Eric has cemented his record as one of the most successful managers in European football.
“Although the review of the club last season identified areas for improvement, it is clear that Eric is the best partner to work with in raising standards and results.
