LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sought monthly plans of 5-year plan for education reforms. CM Maryam Nawaz chaired a special session on school education reforms.
The session was attended by Senator Pervez Rashid, Provincial Minister Marryum Aurangzeb, Rana Sikandar Hayat, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Education Secretary and others.
In the meeting, a detailed review of public school restructuring was made. The Secretary of School Education briefed the Punjab CM on the progress related to the school feeding project.
CM Maryam Nawaz called for a 5-year education reform plan to be prepared in a monthly plan.
In the session, the CM approved the distribution of 32,298 computer tablets to principals of primary schools. It has also decided to set up IT and science labs in 1000 primary schools.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide $100 million in financial assistance to develop the laboratory.
The project for Google certification for 0.3 million public school students has also been officially approved. Students will be certified by Google on a digital journey for the Tech Valley project.
Curriculum development and training proposals in Punjab were also reviewed in the session. At the briefing, it was revealed that more than 92 percent of free books have been delivered to schools.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said she will ensure quality education in public schools at all costs.
