LAHORE: Nomination papers of Maryam Nawaz for the post of Punjab Chief Minister have been submitted, PML-N leader Azma Bukhari said.
PML-N also announced on social media platform X that the nomination papers of Maryam Nawaz for the post of Chief Minister of Punjab have been submitted.
Azma Bukhari, speaking on the premises of the Punjab Assembly after tabling Maryam’s nomination, expressed hope that Maryam Nawaz would take over as Chief Minister tomorrow [Monday].
She stressed that any disrespect to the woman Chief Minister will not be tolerated.

During the ongoing constituent session of the Punjab Assembly, there was an uproar on Saturday when lawmakers from the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), which includes PTI-backed MPs, chanted slogans against PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif after the arrival of the chief minister-designate. Azma expressed hope that there would be no wrongdoing and that opposition members would maintain peace. She also expressed hope that PML-N’s opponents would respect PML-N’s mandate.
She clarified that there is no rivalry between Maryam Nawaz and PTI founder. She further said that once Maryam is elected as Chief Minister, she will soon announce the Ramadan package.
