FAISALABAD: Taker Aneeq Ahmad, the federal minister for religious affairs and interfaith harmony, announced on Wednesday that the government was thinking of establishing masjid schools to combat illiteracy and prepare young Muslims for modern society by creating new curricula for them.
On Wednesday, he was speaking at the Jamia Salfia Hajjiabad diploma delivery event. He remarked that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had emphasized the need for knowledge acquisition in order for Muslims to remain competitive in today’s world.
He asserted that education could guarantee Islam’s hegemony over other religions and that there were significant differences between the learned and the ignorant. He expressed gratitude to the madaris (seminaries) who preserved life.Muhtamim of the Jamia Salfia Prof Yasin Zafar also spoke and said that the Jamia had introduced a sectarian-free syllabus in addition to facilitating its students with economic and political education.
He added that the propagation of Islamic principles was the primary goal of Jamia Salfia’s students. But in addition to giving the sickest medical care in the region, they actively participated in polio eradication campaigns, he continued.
In addition, the interim federal minister gave diplomas, shields, and awards to twelve Jamia Salfi graduates of the Mufti Course.
