ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Thursday that the accountability of the criminals of May 9 will reach its logical conclusion because of the sanctity of the martyrs and the pride of 240 million Pakistanis in the valiant Armed Forces.
Speaking at a press conference with Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, the Defense Minister compared attacks on military installations to hostility towards the country. Khawaja Asif said that the Armed Forces and civil law enforcement agencies are fighting for the safety of the country and are making daily sacrifices during the war against terrorism.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) deliberately defames public office for nefarious reasons. The defense minister accused the PTI of debating the appointment of the army chief, which is the prerogative of the prime minister.
“As a defense minister, I have been part of this process four times and I was never under the influence of any organization because of the idea of the then PML-N government to appoint the most decorated soldier as the army chief.” He said the former PTI chief had created a new narrative that “slavery is all or nothing” but party leaders hired lobbyists to meet the US ambassador and seek his help. The Minister also accused the PTI MPs of obstructing the functioning of the House for political reasons to benefit the arrested founders of the party.
He accused PTI of conspiring against government agencies in recent years and called it a planned act and not a sudden or new move. “PTI is a political force in the Assembly and they claim that the forced statements were made by PTI leaders who have defected, while the latter said that Imran Khan did not listen to them.
Media, commentators and analysts say that party loyalties have been changed by the PTI leadership. Everyone can take back what they said, if true,” he said. PTI said that despite ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PTI) for ten years, he did nothing to improve the country and his chief minister has stolen all the power in KP.
The perpetrators and rioters of the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill were punished under special laws, and the facilitators and leaders were also prosecuted in the United States.
While mocking PTI’s slogan ‘Khan Nahi Pakistan Nahi’ (No Pakistan without Khan), Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan is not based on the identity of an individual but was created after the sacrifice of millions of people. Quaid-e-Azam then caused people from Jammu to UP to migrate to a separate Islamic State to be governed under the laws of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH). The slogan of Nahi Pakistan, Khan Nahi believes, will remain till the doomsday created after the sacrifices of the 1947 Pakistan independence movement, the 1965 war and the war against terror martyrs.
In Pakistan, “there is no god but God” is part of the faith of every Pakistani, he said, asking which government agencies were targeted on whose orders and for what reasons.
Answering questions from the media, he said that political parties should dialogue with each other and government offices have decided to stay away from politics, so they should not be drawn to any party.
