WANA: A joint jirga of the Mehsud tribes was held on Monday in South Waziristan Upper DC compound Tank, regarding the withheld funds for the survey of destroyed houses during the operation Rah-e-Nejat.
On this occasion, Malik Javed, Malik Lal Khan, Malik Muqrab Khan and Malik Saleem Mehsud addressed the Jirga and said, that a unanimous decision was taken agreeing to the protest jirga which had been working for the last several months on the survey of the destroyed houses.
The tribal elders said that anyone who has taken any action in the survey before today has been blocked or has given or received any bribe in respect of a survey cheque.
They Said, now these things have become anecdotal, after today, regarding the survey, the organizers of the jirga will work on the survey.
Tribal elders Said, Apart from this, no other party shall act without informing the protesting Jirga and no person or group shall pass the survey check back and forth.
The tribal elders added that the areas which have been surveyed earlier will get the checks first.
If any person or group is found to be involved in this, he will be the unanimous culprit of the Mehsud tribes.
Elders said, the involved persons will be obliged to pay a fine of five lakh rupees and five fines as tribal traditions to the nation.
If any government official is found to have erred in this regard so he will be considered a national criminal including handing over to the district administration.
Tribal elders said that Mehsud tribes will give 100 rupees per token to protest jirga organizers for further work on survey funds.
In this regard, one lakh and fifty thousand rupees were also collected on the occasion.
Jirga organizers said in this context it will hold one Jirga in Peshawar and one Jirga in Islamabad, and the Mehsud tribes present there will also be taken into confidence.
