The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory indicating the possibility of rain and frost in some parts of Upper and Central Punjab as well as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Apart from this, heavy rainfall is also possible in some upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The National Highways Authority (NHA) has also warned of landslides along the Karakoram Highway due to heavy rains. Efforts are underway to clear debris and reduce the risk of landslides, but severe weather conditions are hampering these efforts.
Heavy rains are expected in Upper and Central Punjab as well as KP today, raising security concerns and travel disruptions in the affected areas, the press minister said. Heavy rainfall is also predicted in Upper KP.
Partly cloudy with rain, heavy rain, and thundershowers are expected in and around Islamabad.
Also, a spokesman for the National Highway Authority said there was a risk of landslides in some parts of the Karakoram Highway due to heavy rains. As much as possible, cleaning operations are being carried out and he said he has faced difficulties in removing the dust due to bad weather conditions.
The NHA has also warned the public not to travel on the Karakoram Highway. The spokesperson said that NHA, FWO and the local administration are working hard to clear the road.
Meanwhile, Met Department has also predicted that Lahore temperature will rise to 40 degrees Celsius in coming week. The weather in Lahore will remain cloudy for two days, but after two days the heat intensity will increase.
The maximum temperature in the city will be 32 degrees, currently 22 degrees. According to the department, the maximum will rise to 32 degrees.
