NEW YORK – After suffering back-to-back defeats to the US and Indian cricket teams, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi woke up from his slumber with an insight that should be clear before the start of the extended edition of the Twenty20 World Cup. .
Disappointed, Naqvi said he understood “what is going on in the team” and “the reason why they lost to rivals India”.
However, this concept only took off after Pakistan’s humiliating defeat by India.
Naqvi’s admission that the team is now at its lowest ebb has come as a disappointment to millions of Pakistanis who had high hopes for the Babar Azam-led Green Shirts.
“The defeat against India is disappointing in every way,” Naqvi, who holds the key portfolio of the Interior Ministry, told reporters at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Naqvi explained that this low number required “major surgery”.
“I believe the main operation is now in order,” said the PCB chief before the tournament, saying what almost every cricket lover can understand.
Naqvi said that the people of Pakistan will soon witness a major overhaul.
He said the biggest challenge is improving the team’s performance from the current situation.
Looking at the upcoming event, Naqvi stressed the need to prepare the team for the Champions Trophy in 2025.
“It’s time to give outside talent a chance,” he said.
“We should try to make the Pakistan cricket team one of the best in the world. The nation does not expect disappointing performances from the cricket team,” Naqvi said.
