Karachi: Forecasting “more than normal” rainfall this year, Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz said on Tuesday that monsoon rains are expected in some parts of the country after June 19.
However, Sarfaraz said there is no chance of rain in the plains during Eid.
The head of meteorology said that this monsoon is expected to bring heavy rainfall in various parts of the country, but the exact situation can be predicted a few days before the spell.
After a prolonged period of hot and humid weather, a top meteorologist said that the temperature in Karachi will be normal in June with the mercury rising to 35-36 ° C. “Apart from Karachi, Sindh will experience normal temperature this month,” he said.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), hot and dry weather will prevail in most parts of Sindh till Thursday. The forecast shows that the temperature is expected to drop to a low of 28°C and a high of 37°C.
After weeks of scorching heat and high temperatures, people in Karachi were relieved on June 7 evening when the mercury dropped by several degrees in various parts of the city.
The affected areas include Gulshan-e-Iqbal, University Road and Gulistan-e-Johar. Meanwhile, Surjani City, Scheme 33, Hawkes Bay, Baldia City, Maripur and Nazimabad also witnessed rain on Friday evening.
