LAHORE: 540 Pakistani students living in Bishkek amid mass attacks arrived in the country late on Sunday after a special flight carrying the third batch reached Lahore.
Minister of Information Ataullah Tarar and relatives of students were present at Allama Iqbal International Airport to receive 170 students from Kyrgyzstan.
About 130 students landed on a special plane on Saturday night, and 175 on Sunday.
Speaking to mediapersons at the airport, Tarar said that the students were traumatized, so he consoled them.
“On the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, we have taken steps to send students home. “Contracts have also been made for four students belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
The minister said that the government is in regular contact with the Kyrgyz government and they will hold talks to improve the safety of students studying there.
Students ‘live in danger’
Student Muhammed Nur Wazir said that the situation in Bishkek is out of control and the lives of other students are in danger.
He should be safe from the hostel to the airport,” he said.
Hatak, another student from Denmark, said the place was not 1% safe because he could not leave the room. “Neither the university authorities nor the ambassador are helping us. We want the Pakistani government to help us,” he said.
Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons at the airport, he said that the students had reached Lahore alone and the government was not supporting them in this matter.
