Karachi: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Thursday said that the mistakes of the last 45 years cannot be solved immediately.
Murtaza Wahab said in a press conference that China and Hong Kong have been cut off in the past, causing hardship for people when rains enter their homes.
The governor said more than 144,000 tons of waste have been diverted to landfills. He said there are 99 collection points and three landfills in seven districts of the city. He said 99 collection points cleaned daily. All collection points are also disinfected.
He said city hall staff worked like heroes in bad weather. The government said it has increased the amount of development funds in the union council from Rs 500,000 to Rs 1.2 crore.
