Mushaal has expressed her concerns regarding the declining health of her husband, Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik, and strongly condemned the inhumane treatment by Indian authorities. She revealed that Yasin Malik’s health has reached a critical stage after he decided to stop taking his medications as a protest against the authorities’ delay in providing him with proper medical treatment, despite court orders.
Mushaal highlighted that the pacemaker implanted in Yasin Malik, which is already expired and outdated, has become ineffective, posing a serious threat to his life. Additionally, she mentioned that he is also suffering from kidney problems and has experienced a significant drop in body weight, which is a major cause for concern.
Just recently, Yasin Malik’s mother approached a court in Delhi to draw attention to her son’s deteriorating health condition and the authorities’ lack of interest in his well-being. She even expressed her willingness to bear the expenses of his treatment. According to Mushaal, the court orders clearly stated that Yasin Malik should have been immediately transferred to a hospital and kept under the supervision of doctors until he fully recovers. However, he was only taken to a government hospital in Delhi on February 13, after his condition had worsened significantly. Despite the court’s instructions to keep him under observation, he was returned to jail after a routine medical checkup.
Mushaal appealed to international human rights organizations to intervene and save the life of the highly respected pro-freedom political leader of the people of Jammu Kashmir. She emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action.
