KHYBER: To remember his services and to pay homage to the deceased journalist, Khalil Khan Afridi, a peace Mushaira (poetry reciting session) was organized at Takya ground of Sultan Khel village tehsil Landi Kotal on Sunday evening.
Large number of local poets, writers’ tribal elders, literary figures and people from walks of life participated in it.
Scores of poets including Qandahar Afridi, Abdul Ghafoor Ghafoor, Bawar Shinwari, Namadar Afridi, Raziq Afridi, Adil Khan Humdard and others paid homage to the deceased journalist through their poetry and underlined services rendered him for the poor segment of the society.
Earlier, addressing on occasion speakers like head of FATA Qaumi Jirga(FQJ) Bismellah Khan Afridi,district chief of Awami National Party(ANP) Shah Hussain,tehsil ameer Jamat-e-Islami(JI)Murad Hussain,President Khyber Transport Association Shakir Afridi and others highlighted different aspects of life of the late journalist,Khalil Khan Afridi and said that the slain media persons always emphasized solution of miseries of laymen through his reporting and therefore he faced the fatal consequence.
They called upon the warring groups to halt their fight and resolve the issue through table talks to restore stable peace in the area.
They threatened that till the arrest of the killers of the journalist, Khalil Khan Afridi they would not give up their agitation.
