Despite appearing in 19 T20s for Pakistan, the talented opener is yet to show his potential, with a top score of 131.06 for 49.
Ayub focused on contributing to Pakistan’s victory rather than his personal victory.
“My goal is not a fifty or a hundred, Man of the match. I don’t know anything about numbers because I aim to win games for my team. It could be any number, 50, 70 or 100, but I don’t think I’m aiming for to win this game,” he said.
Ayub also pointed to his trademark “invisibility”, recalling his debut in the 2022 National T20. He said the shooting was not premeditated, but a spontaneous decision caused by fielding.
I couldn’t find a scoring option, and when I saw him on good legs in the circle, I played it. “I didn’t mean to look shot, it happens automatically,” he said.
“However, I don’t like it because it’s a risky shot. I try to play other shots more often and only play blind when I have to,” he said.
