ISLAMABAD: Following heavy rains in Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to remain alert.
The minister called CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and directed him to speed up the drainage process under his supervision and ensure timely drainage of water from low-lying areas. He also directed that the concerned officers and staff must remain in the field till the drainage work is completed.
While directing the regular monitoring of Islamabad’s streets, sewers and waterways, he laid emphasis on ensuring the drainage of water in tunnels and other places.
He also directed the traffic police to proactively perform their duties and maintain the flow of traffic. He said more resources should be deployed in water drainage efforts.
