Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Markazi Asna Ashri Imam Bargah at G-6 in Islamabad yesterday evening and reviewed the security arrangements for the upcoming Muharram processions. He met the participants and asked about the arrangements. Participants expressed satisfaction with security measures and precautions.
The interior minister said the police and administration are on high alert to ensure peace and security during Muharram. He directed Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Rindhaw and IG Police Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi to take necessary steps to ensure security of the processions. He said a control room has been set up and CCTV cameras are being used to monitor the situation.
The Home Minister was accompanied by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IG Police Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi, DIG Ali Raza and other relevant officials.
