Instead of dragging the people and institutions in the mutual tussle of the political parties, if the federation and the provinces solve their problems through trusting the responsible institutions that will have decent effects.
Keeping in view the news in the media and the situation of the country there is a need to keep a close eye on every step. The differences between the federation and the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the issue of continuous supply of electricity to the citizens have increased to such an extent that now the federation has started talking about recovery from the public through security assistance in the presence of civil institutions. Although some political parties are making point in the above issue but according to the observers, this will increase the problems further.
There is a need for recovery from power thieves and corrupt people but for this the federal and provincial governments should decide on a common plan of action instead of pulling each other’s legs, for that there is a need of touching base between the people and the institutions.
It should be remembered that since the establishment of Pakistan, civil institutions have been doing electricity recovery and other works in which there will be ups and downs but this is not a problem that cannot be solved. At a time when the entire nation is troubled by high electricity bills, providing more expensive electricity has added to the problems while the citizens are also worried about their daily bread.
At such a time there is a need to keep hands on the heads of the people and give them relief in terms of cheap electricity. If the citizens are not given relief on expensive electricity, the situation will worsen and the people will be forced to come on streets.
If the situation of the country is analyzed beyond the political affiliation then it comes out that the people have placed a lot of hope on the political parties. Therefore it is the responsibility of these political leaders that they not only work for their governments but improve the situation besides restore the communication with citizens so that they are not forced to come to the streets. In this regard political and social observers are also saying that instead of bringing the people before the institutions, the political governments solve the problems among themselves. Thus bringing in irrelevant institutions in every case will increase tension, which is not a good sign when the economy of the country is so bad.
Unfortunately the current government has not yet been able to bring any comprehensive program to reduce inflation and improve the country’s economy. On the other hand the demand is gaining momentum across the country that the government will come up with new plans to control inflation, depending on the IMF and increasing expenditure will not solve the problems.
In recent days when the Prime Minister made a statement that this might be our last IMF program, there was a lot of criticism that instead of this, the Prime Minister and the current cabinet needs to come up with self-reliance projects. So that people have confidence to face the situation. If the people are further suppressed (which they have no power over) then the situation may go to further deterioration, on which all the institutions need to think. Our thinking should be how to get the people and the country out of this dire situation. As long as the ruling party and the political parties belongs to opposition do not come together on matters of national interests or welfare of the people these problems will continue to exist. Therefore, the responsible institutions of the country working within their own scope, should find a solution. If on this occasion the action is taken too harshly, the situation might get out of control. A glimpse of which our leaders have seen in Azad Kashmir how the people reacted strongly for their rights. In order to keep the situation of the provinces under control the people should get a big relief at least in terms of electricity.
