BRUSSELS: NATO’s top commander, Chris Cavoli, announced on Thursday that over 90,000 soldiers will take part in Steadfast Defender 2024, the alliance’s biggest exercise in decades, which begins next week and lasts until May.
“After a two-day meeting of national chiefs of defense, the Alliance will demonstrate its ability to reinforce the Euro-Atlantic area by a transatlantic movement of forces from North America,” the US general told reporters in Brussels.
According to Cavoli, the troops will arrive from Sweden and NATO countries.
