Islamabad: National Emergency Operations Center NDMA has warned that a small glacial lake is expected to flood in Badswat Nullah today. It can cause low level/local flooding, affecting temporary bridges and road connections for streams in the area.
The NDMA has asked the GBDMA and local governments to monitor the situation closely and identify the population at risk and relocate them to safer areas in case of moderate and high flows.
Community-based disaster risk management (CBDRM) teams are advised to be alert.
The public is advised to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities. NDMA advises the public to download Pak NDMA Disaster Alert mobile app for timely warning and monitoring of weather reports. Tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in situations where flooding is possible.
