ISLAMABAD: As part of a proactive approach to disaster management, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is all set to organize the first ever Pakistan International Exhibition on Disaster Risk Reduction (PIEDRR) 2024 scheduled to be held on April 23-25 here at the Pak China Friendship Center .
Building on the success of last year’s expo, the Pakistan Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction, PIEDRR 2024 is dedicated to fostering dialogue, collaboration and knowledge exchange to create safer and more resilient societies capable of withstanding global disasters, a press release said. released here on Monday.
This year’s exhibition will welcome participants from 44 countries around the world, including member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and NDMA partner countries.
PIEDRR 2024 aims to serve as a pivotal global platform to achieve key goals, including creating collaborative partnerships to support joint initiatives and research worldwide, knowledge exchange among global experts, practitioners and policy makers. It will act as a global platform for reflection on pre-action, practical recommendations for a safer and more resilient world against polydisasters.
A diverse range of participants, including international and bilateral partners, senior dignitaries, government officials, policy makers, experts, emergency services, global academia and think tanks will participate in the fair through capacity demonstrations, seminars, panel discussions, fire-bombing sessions and global simulation exercises .
