The Netherlands have announced their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, featuring seasoned veterans and promising young talent to represent the Netherlands at the prestigious tournament.
In a surprise move, experienced campaigners Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann have been dropped from the squad to make way for the likes of left-armer Tim Pringle, pace sensation Kyle Klein and explosive opener Michael Leavitt.
After scoring a century against Namibia in the T20I tri-series in Nepal earlier this year, Leavitt produced an impressive knock of 135 off just 62, including 11 boundaries and 10 towering sixes.
Dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman Scott Edwards will continue to lead the Dutch team as captain, while star batsman Bas de Leede will add depth to our squad selection.
In the group phase of the T20 World Cup, the Netherlands will face tough opponents like South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Their campaign begins on June 4 against Nepal at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
