Islamabad: H.E. Mrs. Henny de Vries invited the Minister of Finance and Taxes Muhamad Aurangzeb to discuss issues of mutual interest and strengthen the relationship between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
Finance and Revenue Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador and expressed his appreciation for the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands. He stressed the importance of bilateral relations based on common values and a history of cooperation. The discussion also touched on the structural reforms implemented by the Government of Pakistan to promote economic growth and ensure fiscal sustainability. The Minister further said that Pakistan is interested in transferring technology and acquiring expertise in Dutch agriculture, dairy and agricultural production which will lead to increased exports and contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economy.
Ambassador de Vries said that the Netherlands is committed to further develop cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors. He also appreciated the government’s efforts in the direction of reforms in the main economic and financial sectors of the economy.
The Ambassador was also informed about the Dutch pilot project in Pakistan, including the project on fish production, ensuring microbiological safety and environmental standards in the textile industry and water management in agriculture. He expressed the Netherlands’ commitment to further develop this initiative and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In conclusion, the two parties agreed on the importance of developing bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
