ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of the union committee for promotion of officers of National Highways and Highways Police was chaired by Federal Secretary Communications Ali Sher Mehsud, Additional IG (South Region) Munir Sheikh and DIG (Establishment and Discipline) Dar Ali Khatak at Ministry of Communications and NHMP, Central Police Bureau Islamabad. At these meetings, 166 officers from various ranks were promoted to other ranks. This was formally approved by Minister for Communications and IG, NHMP Salman Chaudhry. Under the chairmanship of the Federal Secretary for Communications, a meeting of the Union Promotion Committee was held at the Ministry of Communications, 10 Deputy Superintendents of Police (Grade 17) were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (Grade 18). In another meeting held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Additional IG (South Region), 45 Inspectors (Grade 16) were promoted to Deputy Inspectors of Police (Grade 17). The third meeting was also held at Central Police Station under the chairmanship of DIG (Establishment and Discipline), 111 sub-inspectors (grade 14) were promoted to inspector (grade 16). Promotion of officers is done on the basis of seniority and merit as per rules. Promotions were based on seniority and merit in accordance with the rules. Secretary Communications and IG NHMP Salman Chaudhry congratulated the promoted officers and emphasized that their promotion was in recognition of their outstanding performance. Furthermore, it is commendable that the Communications Secretary and IG NHMP have encouraged the promoted officers to continue working hard with determination for the betterment of the department and maintain traffic discipline for safer highways and highways. Overall, these promotions reflect the commitment to recognize and reward deserving officers within the NHMP with the expectation that they will continue to serve commuters with dedication, integrity and professionalism.
