ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister of Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed said Thursday that his government had taken numerous measures to ensure easy and quality hajj arrangements, and that no compromises would be made in order to provide maximum convenience to intending pilgrims.
Speaking to PTV news station, he stated that pilgrims’ housing, meals, and transportation will be enhanced to provide a more comfortable and easy experience, and that all plans for the upcoming Hajj had been finished under Saudi Arabia’s official Hajj scheme.
He stated that the Ministry’s main goal was to improve arrangements based on feedback from stakeholders, and that the government had also created a comprehensive and reasonable hajj package for hujjaj this year.
In response to a question, he stated that the current government has also declared a huge decrease of Rs 0.1 million in government Hajj expenses while maintaining the quality of hujjaj services.
“At no cost, the government is providing QR codes and a 30 kg suitcase to all hujjaj pilgrims to assist them in locating their luggage,” adding that the government will also supply Pakistan Flagged Abayas to all female pilgrims to make them more visible and to represent the country.
He stated that careful monitoring of private tour operators should also be established so that pilgrims of the private Hajj Scheme do not suffer any hassles.
