Islamabad: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has welcomed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s decision to allow his party to attend the All-Party Conference (APC).
“The atmosphere around the founder of PTI seems to have changed. He has the old night to negotiate with the organization and he did not return,” said Asif.
He said there was no intention in the military establishment to hold talks with the PTI, adding that the government’s offer to talk to the PTI remained unchanged.
The defense minister emphasized the importance of joint efforts in solving national problems. He said the war against terrorism was not a political issue but a national issue.
Khawaja Asif also emphasized the cooperation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for Operation Azm-e-Istehkam. His behavior at that time will be positive and positive,” Asif said.
Reflecting on PTI’s founder’s role as prime minister, Asif said, “PTI’s founder ruled for four years. He realized this opportunity too late.”
Despite the previous controversy, Asif suggested that there could be a change in Imran Khan’s stance, which reflects “a space of sympathy in his heart”.
Confirming the government’s stance on dialogue, Asif said, “The government’s offer to talk with PTI remains unchanged. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has offered talks with PTI three or four times. Politicians never close the door; Imran Khan’s attitude is not political.”
Asif also expressed PTI’s desire to hold talks with military institutions, and said, “Discussions with military institutions are PTI’s desire. This establishment has always been PTI’s sponsor.” It shows that Imran Khan’s willingness to participate in political debates and strategies has changed.
