Islamabad: The recently announced concept of maintaining stability called Azm-e-Istehkam is misunderstood and equated with kinetic practices like Zarb-e-Azab, Rah-e-Najaat and others.
Kinetic operations have previously been conducted to physically remove terrorists from designated areas that have become Go-Go zones and marred the country’s records. This operation requires mass displacement of the local population and continuous clean-up of the affected area.
The ability of terrorist organizations to conduct or carry out large-scale organized operations inside Pakistan has been drastically reduced by previous kinetic operations, as the country does not have such Go-Go zones. Therefore, large-scale military operations are not envisaged in areas where population displacement will be necessary.
Azm-e-Istehkam is a multi-domain, multi-agency, national vision system for sustaining stability in Pakistan. It is intended to strengthen and reinvigorate the implementation of the revised National Action Plan launched after the National Political Agreement.
Azm-e-Istehkam is intended to strengthen the kinetic operation based on awareness to eradicate the shadowy and shadows of the remaining terrorists, the facilitation of criminal terrorism and the roots of violent extremism in the country. overall safe environment in the country for economic growth and prosperity.
This will include political, diplomatic, legal and information services, in addition to the work already carried out by law enforcement agencies.
This should clear all misunderstandings and avoid unnecessary arguments on the matter.
