ISLAMABAD: The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has invited all voices of Pakistan to join its efforts to empower women in climate action by participating in an ‘article writing competition’.
Organized in collaboration with Gender Intersectionality and Climate Change (GICC), the essay competition is aimed at stimulating thoughtful discourse on the intersectionality of gender and climate resilience, according to a NUST official.

The essay writing competition is part of the ‘Women in Climate Action – Celebrating Resilience’ event organized by NUST and GIZ Pakistan on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8) in Islamabad.
This empowerment event aims to recognize and recognize the significant contributions of women in climate action and highlight their leadership, innovation and influence in creating sustainable, climate-resilient communities.
Researchers, climate heroes, academia and individuals from the development sector have been invited to participate in the event, which includes panel discussions, success stories, stalls featuring women-led initiatives and art and photography exhibitions.

The official informed about other activities as part of this mega event that the event will also include an insider panel discussion, success stories, an art and photo exhibition and an exhibition of projects and products.
An insightful panel discussion will aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities women face in climate action.
Successful storytelling will highlight women who are doing significant climate work and give them a platform to tell their stories and the experiences and hardships they have faced in their enormous endeavours.
Featuring compelling visuals of women from diverse backgrounds, cultures and professions, the art and photography exhibition will highlight the collective power they are harnessing to address climate issues.
The Project and Product Exhibitions will feature dedicated stands featuring projects and products of women-led initiatives related to environmental sustainability and climate action, giving women a platform to highlight their efforts.
