On the third day of Eid, project partners Dr. Moazzam Durrani and Mr. Waqar Mushtaq Bahawalpur Islamia University, Principal Investigator Prof. An online review session was held with Cameron Andrew Petrie. He represents the University of Cambridge.
The partnership agreement between the University of Cambridge and IUB starts in March 2022 and is signed in October 2022.
The project continues as a faculty development phase involving QGIS and other technology tools developed as part of several online classes at IUB. As a final step, two teachers were allowed to enter Cambridge University for extensive training.
In the review meeting of the two-year collaboration, Dr. Cameron Petrie, the main investigator of our project, met with the leaders of IUB, distinguished vice chancellor prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Director, Center for Culture and Heritage Research, Dr. Shazia Anjum and vote of thanks. partner Dr. Moazzam Durrani and Waqar Mushtaq. In the future, they aim to cooperate to protect the archaeological heritage of the area.
Prof. Cameron said plans are being discussed by the MAHSA team for a second visit to IUB in Cambridge. During the trip, they will conduct workshops that allow faculty and students to gain a deeper understanding of archeology topics.
