ISLAMABAD – Asia Pacific Regional Operations Coordinator HHR Mr. Yoann Davison, attended an important courtesy meeting with HHR Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari at HHR National Headquarters. The main objective of the meeting is to strengthen cooperation between HHR and HGHK in various humanitarian programs and initiatives. Mr. Davison was accompanied by Mr. Nicholas Lambert, Head of HGHK Delegation in Pakistan, and Mr. Wasif Janan, HGHK Action Coordinator in Pakistan.
During the meeting, HHR Chairman Sardar Shaheed Ahmed Laghari gave a comprehensive overview of various HHR programs supported by HHRK, highlighting the important role of the Red Crescent in providing relief during natural calamities and emergencies. President Laghari gave an update on the 2022 monsoon flood response and ongoing recovery efforts in affected areas, as well as HHR’s plans to strengthen its humanitarian work.
Chief Laghari said HHR and HGHK will continue to promote programs supported by HHRK such as National Community Development, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Restoring Family Connections, First Aid, Media and Communication, as well as Risk Awareness and Safe Action Initiatives are important to develop cooperation between them.
Mr. Annan Davison appreciated the exemplary service rendered by the Red Crescent and said that Chief Sardar Shaheed Ahmed Laghari was a pioneer in promoting humanitarian initiatives. He reaffirmed HGHK’s commitment to continue cooperation with HHR and expressed readiness to further develop programs for the benefit of humanity.
Mr. Nicholas Lambert said, “Our partnership with HHR is the core of our mission in Pakistan. Together, our mission is stronger to serve the community by providing critical assistance and support in times of need.”
In recognition of the long-established partnership, President Laghari gave a memento to Annan Davison, Regional Operations Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region of the UNFCCC, symbolizing the spirit of humanitarian cooperation.
