Washington: “We are incredibly happy with the quality of the footballs that are made in Pakistan. Apart from the quality of the ball, the brand that is placed on the ball can also be identified,” said Mr. Gray Andrulis, Managing Director of DC Soccer Club, during a meeting with Ambassador Masood Khan at the Embassy of Pakistan. He was accompanied by Zainab Schwartz, President of the Board of Directors, DC Soccer Club.
“You can go to any park in D.C., a soccer park, and see a soccer ball made in Pakistan,” he noted.
“We get great prices and great balls,” he continued.
“Even the delivery is always on time,” he added.
Mr Andrulis emphasized the strength and reliability of the footballs made in Pakistan, noting that even after four to five years of use, “they have scratches and stuff, but they’re still good balls because they’re so strong.”
“I can tell you that we are returning the uniforms, but no one is returning the soccer balls made in Pak,” he noted.
“I am very proud that my country, Pakistan, is represented in the lives of children on a daily basis,” said Zainab Schwartz, DC Soccer Club Board Chair.
The DC Soccer Club is the DMV’s largest tri-state soccer club, covering the capital city of Washington and the surrounding areas of Maryland and Virginia. The club was founded in 1977 as DC Stoddert Soccer and has over 7,500 members. The club gets around 2500 footballs made in Pakistan every year.
Ambassador Masood Khan thanked the management of DC Soccer Club for their compliments and confidence in the soccer balls made in Pakistan and emphasized that Pakistan produces 70% of the world’s soccer balls.
“Our sporting goods bring people together. Our signature products promote human well-being, a healthy mind and a healthy society,” said the ambassador.
We are focused on making our products even more competitive to secure more market share,” he noted.
The Ambassador also welcomed the DC Football Club Chairman’s proposal to host the 2025 Embassy Cup as a precursor to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
