SWAT: A total of 26,975 cases of 16,862 criminal and 10,113 civil cases were registered in the district judiciary in Swat district during the year 2023. Out of 16582 criminal cases and 10696 civil cases, a total of 27278 different cases were decided. In January 2024, at least 2176 new cases were registered and 2218 cases were decided in this month. A total of 104,512 cases were classified by the end of 2023 in connection with digitization. Unnecessary materials of 188075 cases were destroyed as per law while computerization/scanning of 109117 cases was completed.
Thus, the Sessions Judge and Additional Sessions Judges conducted prison inspections every month. Heard the pleas of the accused and issued judgments on the cases of many accused on the spot.
In the year 2023, lawyers were provided to 41 accused at public expense through the District Legal Improvement Committee.
Along with this, the judges were also busy in various trainings, staff recruitment meetings.
Lawyers and the public have expressed full confidence in District Judiciary Swat.
