Islamabad:- German delegate Romina Khurshid invited Alamy to discuss cooperation on climate sustainability in Pakistan.
Sebastian Paust, Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy in Islamabad, invited the Prime Minister’s Climate Change Coordinator Romina Khurshid to Alamy and her team.
Both sides discussed various areas of cooperation to achieve environmental sustainability and climate sustainability in various socio-economic fields of mutual interest.
He said that the country and its organizations are aware of the climate risks Pakistan is facing and expressed interest in working with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination to address these environmental and climate change issues.
The Prime Minister thanked the German delegation and said that he will support all initiatives that will help Pakistan achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to climate change, education, health, environment and disaster risk management.
Referring to areas of interest for bilateral cooperation, Romina Khurshid Alam told the German delegation that climate-resistant buildings, electronic waste management, climate tourism, climate sports, SDGs, disaster relief and women are key areas of climate risk management. The Ministry supports Development Cooperation to plan and implement any project that helps Pakistan improve climate resilience and achieve environmental sustainability.
