LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif met Iranian Ambassador Dr Raza Amiri Mughaddam at Jati Umra in Raiwand and agreed to change Pak-Iran border from security zone to economic corridor.
They also discuss mutual interests, focusing on trade, culture, economy and social relations.
The meeting discussed possible cooperation in agriculture and animal husbandry, and Iran agreed to increase meat imports from Punjab from 40 percent to 70 percent. They also discussed increasing mutual trade to $10 billion and strengthening cultural ties between the twin cities of Isfahan, Mashhad and Lahore.
Similarly, proposals for the promotion of Persia in the Punjab were considered.
Iranian Ambassador invited Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif to visit Iran.
Nawaz and Maryam mourn the martyrdom of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.
dr. Mughaddam thanked Pakistan for friendship and congratulated Maryam Nawaz on her first 100 days as Prime Minister. The Iranian ambassador praised the community-friendly initiative.
