ISLAMABAD: According to The News, the government and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have stated that the tension between Iran and Pakistan will not impact the general elections scheduled for February 8 and its schedule.
In response to a question about whether the tension along Pakistan’s border with Iran will have an impact on the polls or the schedule, the ECP spokeswoman stated that the commission was committed to holding the elections on the designated day and as planned.
“The ECP is preoccupied with election preparations, and there has been no suggestion or thought given to changing the election date in light of the tensions between Iran and Pakistan.”

He declared, “We are operating normally and prepared to hold elections on February 8.”
When questioned, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi added that the polls will take place on schedule.
