Islamabad: Pakistan and Sweden have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and build broad-based relations based on strong economic cooperation.

The agreement was reached during the 18th round of bilateral political consultations held between the two countries.
The Pakistani side was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Europe), Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, while the Swedish side was led by Ambassador Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, Director General of the Global Division of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides reviewed all spheres of bilateral cooperation, including political relations, trade and investment, education and people-to-people relations.
Expressing satisfaction with the Pak-Sweden relationship, they agreed to coordinate on all issues of mutual interest in multilateral fora such as the United Nations and the European Union.
The Swedish side informed the Pakistani side about the steps taken to promote inter-religious harmony in Sweden.
Important regional and global developments are also discussed.
Director General Dag also specially called on the Foreign Secretary and discussed strengthening Pakistan-Sweden bilateral relations.
