Hanoi: Ms. Faiza noted that Pakistan and Vietnam have many similarities in their demographics, IT environment and IT infrastructure. Therefore, she suggested that both countries could learn from their experiences and work together for a mutually beneficial relationship. During the meeting, the MOITT delegation also gave a presentation on Pakistan’s IT sector landscape, particularly highlighting investment opportunities in the IT sector.
Ms. Faiza Shafqat, Minister of Trade and Investment, along with a delegation from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MOITT) Pakistan, held a meeting with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, Vice President/Secretary General of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) to hold a discussion on all areas of common interest to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Vietnam in the IT sector.
Acknowledging the importance of bilateral cooperation, VINASA vice-chairman expressed keen interest in the IT sector of Pakistan and appreciated the mission’s efforts in connecting businesses and associations in the IT sector on both sides.
Ms. Faiza also proposed and VINASA agreed to follow up meetings bringing together all bilateral stakeholders on both sides i.e. Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam, Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan, VINASA, Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITES (P@SHA), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications of Pakistan.
Finally, Ms. Faiza thanked VINASA for providing her with an opportunity to exchange ideas on Pakistan-Vietnam IT cooperation. She will also be happy to hear any suggestions and proposals from the Association to develop a plan to achieve our common goal of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the IT sector in the shortest possible time. Vice President VINASA appreciated the idea and assured her full support in this regard.
