Pakistan batsman wicket-keeper Babar Azam and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan achieved a unique record in the third T20I against Ireland in Dublin.
Babar and Rizwan, considered one of the greatest pairs in T20Is, continued their impressive performance as doubles and became the first pair to score 3000 partnerships.
In doing so, they became the first pair to have only 10 century stands. The closest to them is the Indian pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who have five century partnerships.
In T20Is, Babar struggled the most for his 17th century stand. Meanwhile, the 13th Rizwan is part of the partnership.
At the time of filing this story, Rizwan lost his wicket to Mark Adair after scoring 56 off 38 runs with seven boundaries. Babar Azam and Azam Khan needed 24 runs to win the match against Pakistan.
Incidentally, Ireland dominated the visitors as the hosts recorded a five-wicket win in the first T20I of the series. However, Pakistan made a brilliant comeback in the second T20I, chasing down 194 in 17 overs.
