WANA: Pakhtunkhwa radio station Wana has been broadcasting off-air for the last six months due to faulty transmitter, causing several problems for the radio staff.
Rather, they have faced severe difficulties due to non-payment of salaries for six months, while Pakhtunkhowa radio station Wana has been facing difficulties for the last six months due to lack of a permanent station Manger/ producer.
It is noted that five Pakhtunkhowa radio stations were established in newly merged districts by the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which included Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, North Waziristan, Razmak and South Waziristan, Wana radio stations.
In this regard, former provincial assembly candidate Taj Wazir told Dawn on Sunday that here the staff of Pakhtunkhowa radio station Wana is facing various problems.
Directorate of Information and Public relations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not providing any kind of support.
Taj Wazir added that the radio has a lot of unresolved issues, there is no permanent producer, the transmitter is broken for six months,
He said there is no carry box vehicle for the staff, the salaries of the staff are withheld for the last six months, the staff are forced to pay the telephone bills from their own pockets.
On the other hand, Pakhtunkhowa Radio Wana staff said that we operationalized Pakhtunkhowa radio station under their own help but unfortunately the cooperation from information department is not enough.

Due to compulsion, they are unable to operate the radio station as it has become not difficult but impossible to do duty without salary.
Former provincial assembly candidate Taj Wazir and radio staff strongly demanded from Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Secarty KP, Information Advisor of Government KP and Secretary Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, that the issues of Pakhtunkhwa radio station Wana should be taken notice and the staff should be provided facilities like other radio stations.
