KARACHI: Pakistan’s U18 volleyball team put up an outstanding performance today to secure victory over India in the 15th Asian Men’s Under-18 Volleyball Championship in Bahrain.
Pakistan dominated all parts of the game and kept Indians under pressure throughout the match. Although Pakistan remained at a high level in all three games, they faced no resistance from the Indians in the 2nd set which went to a tie-break.
Pakistan defeated India by an impressive score of 3-0. The set points were 25-20, 29-27 and 25-15.
Remarkable contributions from Ajmal Junaid, Abubaker, Muhammad Yahya and Muhammad Anas were instrumental in securing this victory. Their exceptional play and coordination on the field was the key to Pakistan’s success.
The Pakistan Volleyball Federation president also announced a $100 reward for each player and coach for defeating India.
In the first game, The Green Shirts won 3-2 over South Korea.
Pakistan will play their final group game against Kuwait on July 30.
In the current edition, 16 teams are divided into four groups. Group A includes Bahrain, Thailand, Hong Kong and Australia. Group B includes Japan, Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan. Group C includes Iran, China, Lebanon and the Philippines.
