ISLAMABAD: On Kashmir Exploitation Day, Pakistan’s top officials joined forces to condemn India’s actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, pledge solidarity with the Kashmiri people and call for international intervention to end the region’s suffering.
In a meeting between Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, both leaders expressed strong condemnation of Indian actions in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A) on August 5, 2019. They condemned the move as a violation of UN resolutions and international laws.
The leaders criticized the continued curfew and enforcement of Section 144 in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the martyrdom of thousands of innocent Kashmiris, including children, women and the elderly. They stressed the need for international organizations, the United Nations and human rights groups to address injustices and atrocities in the region.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured full cooperation for public peace in Azad Kashmir and pledged support to bring peace and harmony in the region. Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq thanked Naqvi for his cooperation and determination to meet the security requirements of Azad Kashmir. The meeting highlighted the importance of resolving the Jammu and Kashmir conflict for lasting peace in South Asia. The leaders called for international intervention to end the suffering of the Kashmiri people and expose the “ugly face” of India to the world.
