Islamabad: Pakistan earned $633.198 million in ten months of fiscal year 2023-24 by providing various travel services in different countries.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported that this represents a decrease of 27.61 percent compared to the same service of US$ 874,700 million in the corresponding month of the fiscal year 2022-23.
In the month under review, private travel services fell 28.08 percent to $628,278 million in April from July 2023-24, from $868,020 million last year.
Among these personal services, health-related expenditure exports increased by 255.59 percent and education-related expenditures by 98.97 percent.
In addition, other personal services decreased by 30.71 percent.
Meanwhile, the export of business services increased by 33.53 percent from $6.680 million to $8.920 million.
It is worth mentioning here that during July-April 2023-24, export of services was recorded at $6.441 billion against $6.366 billion during July-January 2022-23, showing an increase of 1.18 percent. Our country’s imports increased by 20.77 percent to $8.347 billion from $6.912 billion last month.
