ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday assured reliable security for Chinese nationals and employees working on projects in Pakistan.
A high-level meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a Chinese trade delegation led by Consul General Zhao Shirin focused on improving security measures for Chinese nationals and employees in Pakistan.
At a meeting attended by top law enforcement officials, they discussed proposals from Chinese businessmen to strengthen security protocols.
Naqvi assured the implementation of workable proposals with priority given to the safety of Chinese citizens.
He announced that online visas for Chinese citizens will be available from August 14, which will facilitate their business trips to Pakistan. The purpose of the meeting was to review and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the convenience of Chinese citizens.
Consul General Zhao Shirin expressed optimism about the outcome of the meeting and emphasized the “ideal relations” between Pakistan and China. Senior officials from Punjab, including the Inspector General of Police and the Home Minister, also attended the meeting. This development underscores Pakistan’s determination to promote a secure environment for Chinese investment and business, further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
