SWAT: A two-days research conference was organized in the saidu medical college (SMC)Swat by the research division of Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) in collaboration with Khyber Medical University( KMU) here in Swat district.
Pakistan Pediatric Association Central President Prof. Dr. Jamal Raza, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Prof. Dr. Amin Jan, Khyber Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ziaul Haq, Principal Saidu medical college and Chief Executive Saidu teaching hospitals Professor Dr Israrul Haq and Associate Professor Dr. Naeemullah and other experts and researchers presented papers. “The main purpose of the conference was to promote research on childhood diseases and to assess the impact of these diseases on the health of children and to find ways for possible remedies.”
The researchers said that we should do research in our own country Pakistan and instead of reading in foreign books, we should do research on children’s diseases and increasing death rate in our own country.
The central president of Pakistan Pediatric association, Prof. Dr. Jamal Raza, said on this occasion that we are trying to conduct research on children’s diseases in Pakistan so that we can know about our problems and get treatment added, that it is our first priority to minimize the diseases of children and find treatment and our association will also provide funds to young doctors and medical students doing research in this regard. He said.

We read all these foreign books while our problems are our own. Where are our children born? What are their diseases and why is their death rate increasing? We should pay attention to this because medical knowledge doubles every 50 years, so we cannot just rely on books, but we will look at these diseases and their treatment from a new angle.
Principal Seidu Medical College and Chief Executive Seidu teaching hospitals Professor Dr. Israrul Haq said that the main objective of this conference organized in Seidu Medical College is to continue the research culture and solve the problems at the national level by doing research at the regional level.
He said that for the first time this activity has been organized in Pakistan by the Pakistan Pediatric Association to highlight the importance of research in the medical field.
The experts said that if the research culture in the field of medicine is highlighted by organizing these kinds of conferences, the best results can be brought out for the prevention and treatment of new diseases that are not occurring in Pakistan.
